i have my tivo networked now. it get’s it’s updates online instead of via modem, i can telnet/ftp to it, and best of all.. tivoweb!
unbelieveably cool, i can do pretty much anything from anywhere there is net access — schedule season passes and recordings, delete stuff, browse listings, etc. and i didn’t break the damn thing!

no, that’s pretty much the one thing you can’t do. tivo has been helpful to the people who hack their tivo’s, and hasn’t sued anyone. the even included network drivers in the 3.0 sofware release. as such, the hacker community doesn’t want to piss off tivo by offering a way to get the video off of the drive over the network.
no. im not talking about that… im sayin can you have the tivo play… like a remote control type thing. this would be handy in kevin’s situation if he ever had a tivo… many tvs 1 tivo… all hooked up. use the internet interface to make it play from the other room onto your tv in your room… ya see?
yes you can! as a matter of fact, i’m getting a video transmitter type thing so i can do this in my bedroom.
