just got back, had a great time!!!!! of course nothing went as planned, but that was basically our intention.

the short version – took the long way up to macinaw, all around 23 on the east coast of michigan. lots of scenery, practically no one on the road. stopped whenever we wanted to. started looking for hotels about an hour outside of macinaw. no vacancies. made it all the way to macinaw, and knew there would be no hotel rooms there. so we just started heading west. ended up in green bay, wisconsin before we finally found a room — at about 4am (est) on saturday morning. woke up, went down to milwaukee and hung out there for awhile. then went down to chicago to my aunt and uncle’s house, went to dinner with them and spent the night there. woke up this morning, checked out downtown chicago for awhile, and headed back.
