  1. i’m thinking of making an array of old mp3 players w/ 128 meg chips… i have 2 or 3 I think… and os/x sees them as usb drives.

  2. I always wanted to boot and run an os off of a zip 100 disk… you could raid a bunch of them together… i think an array of flash media would be considerably faster than standard IDE drives. ATA133 has been around for a while but no hard drive can even approach that throughput. no seek delays or rotation speed issues.

  3. THAT IS TOO FUCKING COOL. *KICKS SELF FOR NOT FATHERING SUCH IDEA* YOU KNOW, HAD USB BEEN AROUND IN THE *OLDEN* DAYS, THIS IDEA WOULD HAVE BEEN MORE THAN A PRACTICAL WAY OF TRANSFERRING FILES OVER 1.44MB. I REMEMBER HAVING TO ZIP FILES, USE CUTTER22 TO CUT THE ZIP, COPY THE ZIPS TO FLOPPIES, COPY THE ZIPS OFF OF THE FLOPPIES, RESTITCH THE FILES TOGETHER, AND FINALLY UNZIP JUST TO TRANSFER A 5 FILE.

  4. The poverty rate was 12.1 percent last year, up from 11.7 percent in 2001. Nearly 34.6 million people lived in poverty, about 1.7 million more than the previous year….

The poverty threshold differs by the size and makeup of a household. For instance, a person under 65 living alone in 2002 was considered in poverty if income was $9,359 or less; for a household of three including one child, it was $14,480.

What kind of crack are they on??? A family of 3 couldn’t live in a 78 Olds and eat with that income in a year.

I think foreign aid should be slashed, hell we probably give the cowardly french money while we starve our own children.
