so b2 is really starting to piss me off. the guy stopped developing it. there have been at least 3 spinoffs of the code, all mostly backwords compatible with the original, but all are in various stages of development. i think it’s rather retarded – they should get together and keep one branch going.
anyway, i’m tired of it. i’ve played around with migrating to a full fledged cms, but all of the popular ones are a real pain in the ass for such a simple site.
also, it’s somewhat stupid to have however many bazillion database hits happen on the main page. this is pretty much the concept that moveable type goes with.
i don’t care much for the “not really free” aspect of moveable type, but it looks fairly easy to setup, and since a bazillion people use it there is a strong community behind it. so, i’ll probably start migrating over.
any comments on this??
Not sure about how much database activity it’s been causing (haven’t checked my stats over there lately), but the interface is nice, easy to maintain and modify, and again the large community is also helpful. We like MT.
