this weekend is the big move. i’m finding it to be more involved than i thought.
i am continuously stumbling upon various loose ends that need to be tied up before i leave. i’m not just leaving a place — i’m leaving a business, customers, and community ties. in the past week i’ve had to find someone to fill my roles with leadership ottawa county, make sure that several big projects are wrapped up, teach my dad how to do everything from read bandwidth graphs to run the credit card batch through, tell some of the people behind my more regular consulting gigs that i’m no longer available, and more random little crap than i can remember. oh, and i have to start packing since i start moving in two days!
at least everything decided to fall apart before i leave. coastal has a funky routing issue that’s causing some very unflattering downstream bandwidth limits. i simply can’t put my finger on the problem.
it’ll all sort itself out i’m sure.
I wish you the very best in this move. I remember when I left back in ’03. I had a week from when I signed the papers to the day I got the keys to my apartment… 3 states away. I didn’t have as many little things to leave behind, but I did have to basically start my life over. I’m glad you get to ease into this. Best of luck, and I know I’ve got your number 😉
