happy new year!!

a day late, of course. anyway, kristy and her land had a nifty new years survey. why the hell not fill it out…

01 what did you do in 2005 that you’d never done before?
in 2005, i was able to travel more, including new states, a new contry, and a few new canadian provinces.

02 did you keep your new years’ resolutions, and will you make more?
i -think- my new years resolution was to loose weight. i did, but i think i put a lot of it back on (fuck you, wilma and beans).

03 did anyone close to you give birth?
no, but someone close to me is now expecting.

04 did anyone close to you die?
my uncle (dad’s only brother)

05 what countries did you visit?
canada and mexico!

06 what would you like to have in 2006 that you lacked in 2005?
a solid economy, confidence that health care won’t suck when i need it, and an overall positive outlook for the future.

07 what date from 2005 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
whatever date we were put into a mexican elementary school for shelter from hurricane wilma. i’m terrible with dates, but i’ll never forget the experience.

08 what was your biggest achievement of the year?
starting the process of selling a company i’ve spent years helping to build – finding a good new job almost immediately.

09 what was your biggest failure?
giving up “working for myself” full-time, but it’s more of a bummer than a failure. i still enjoy what i do.

10 did you suffer illness or injury?
not really, i have an immune system of steel. 🙂

11 what was the best thing you bought?
toss between plane tickets or my NEW t.v. i’d say plane tickets.

moving to a new area & moving in with dana

no idea.

happier or sadder – happier
older or wiser – hopefully both
thinner or fatter? – i think mildly thinner.
richer or poorer? – we’ll just say “very close to being financially stable and then some”

18 what do you wish you’d done more of?
spending time with old friends and extended family

19 what do you wish you’d done less of?
nothing that i can think of?

20 how did you spend christmas?
with family – and with dana!

21 goto 10

22 did you fall in love in 2005?
i fell more in love.

23 how many one-night stands?
i’m happily un-single, thank you.

24 what was your favorite tv program?
tough one. it used to be west wing, hands down. however, it’s really been on a slow but steady decline. now i’d probably say csi, scrubs, the office, who knows.

25 do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
i hate those who complain about the state of things yet voted an imbecile back in office.

26 what was the best book you read?
i haven’t read very many through to completion. it’s been a busy year.

cheap rent, short commute

30 what was your favorite film of this year?
i don’t remember the last time a movie -really- stuck out in my mind.

25, i don’t really remember.

32 what one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
the ability to travel anywhere at anytime without consequence.

33 how would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2005?
same as always – d.g.a.s. (don’t give a shit)

34 what kept you sane?
a girlfriend who keeps affairs in order better than i do.

35 which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
coming up with a blank here.

36 what political issue stirred you the most?
the “war on terror” horseshit.

37 who did you miss?
grandpa r. grandpa l tim. sissy. my old college friends.

38 who was the best new person you met?
can’t think of a single new person. i met lots of people in travels and i always enjoyed it.

39 tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2005:
don’t eat the yellow snow.

40 quote a song lyric that sums up your year:

let’s go fishing for a dream
let’s find some place new
somewhere we can be ourselves
some of the time

lose your heart, i lose my mind
we’ll make quite a pair, dazzling all the time
celebrity parties, the red carpet mile
nothing is too good there for my girl
all of this world, is gonna see you shine

Nice to know i was so memorable. you went to the cleveland symphony orchestra with your hot girlfriend, went back to her place, ate kfc, and argued about the merits of a blue spruce christmas tree.

  2. i knew that i was forgetting something that i’d later regret forgetting! we had box seats and all.
