most of the comments below are not related to friends hooking up… they are related to me getting laid off from rawhide yesterday.
yes kids, that’s correct. the company that just gave me a 20% raise and a nice promotion a few weeks ago now decided they don’t need me, or about 20 other people.
luckily my (ex) boss pretty much hooked me up with a job with rawhide’s sister company.

they knew they were firing you! unemployment pays 65% of your previous salary. the raise was to give you close to the same income on unemployment that you had before you got fired. btw i love bean counters.

well i have leads at heartland and at a local isp, but i can guarantee wherever i end up, i won’t be doing as well as i was before i was laid off money-wise.
