so it’s 1:45am saturday night (or sunday morning rather), and what am i doing? hint: it’s ultra geeky and not very social-riffic…

getting netbsd running on silentbob.

exciting stuff eh! well i’ve been wanting to get away from solaris for awhile. in the meantime most of my (and others) stuff is running on brodie, a terdy freebsd box.

so now i’ll talk about the date. i really wasn’t expecting much to begin with. we’ve talked a few times on the phone, and awkward silence was not uncommon. we didn’t have much to talk about in general, and i was never unable to spark up conversation. but, i always give people a try in person. phone calls can be very deceiving.

in this case, i could have just went with my instinct. no matter what topic i tried to bring up, her response was usually little more than “uhhhh…….” followed by some short answer. even the topics she was interested in didn’t make it too far. she’s (apparently) a movie buff and likes a few of the same shows i do. honestly she wasn’t much to look at either. nice girl and all, but obviously there’s nothing there.

oh well — at least the food was good. we ate at a little italian place. i forget what i had, but it was incredible!
