…and my ibook, after years of frequent use and abuse, finally seems to have bit the dust. it sounds like it boots, but the screen is just flat out dead. i’m hoping it’s just that the power cable to the lcd popped loose.
perhaps it’s time to get one of the new x86-powered powerbooks.
i think the magnetic power connector is just fucking brilliant. –about time. has anyone else noticed the bottom of the line x86 notebook cost as much as two ibooks? which is more worth it?
The only thing I’m afraid of is the battery life, are they still going to get 6 hours on an Intel chip?
i forget what ibook you have i replaced the cdrom in my ibook, with a slot loading super drive…yeah its about a bitch theres roughly 34 screws to take out and you kinda have to keep track of them some are longer than others so if you put a long one in a short hole shit aint going to work…….(yeah i know) screens are about a sharp side worse to replace… there are companies that fix them relitlvy cheaply like a flat fee preowned is one of them but the new ibooks look cool go with one of those its time for an upgrade
i bet you could pay for almost half of a new ibook by selling your ibook that doesn’t work.
