i found that link on slashdot. someone joked about how “rock pornography” was the next big thing.. the next post was that link, labeled “for those who think he was kidding”
also worth noting that the comment feature wasn’t added until there were already quite a few entries – and not too many people stepped back and added comments to the older entries. actually, just did a search. comment 144 was where i introduced the comments thing, and entry 141 is the earliest entry to have comments associated with it. to top that, the comments didn’t get popular until a bit later. so, as you can see, the ratio is a bit better than 4:1.
the changing comment/ratio makes it impossible to pin-point an exact ratio…since it will naturally be invalid with days….although it’s now safe to safe 4:1 and not be too far off…

its like a jet…to go faster you need more fuel. but because you have more fuel, you have more weight, which slows you down
i’m sure there is a formula to figure this stuff out. some area under a curve that will give us the answer down to 15 decimal points.
i don’t have any suggestions for entry 1000, but for entry 1001, i suggest another “pimp of” picture.
