the oh-six mattopia challenge

i’m back from bermuda.. it rocked.. pics to come, once i get those cancun ’05 pictures uploaded. 🙂 more to say on the trip later.

today, while out house shopping (again…) dana found a 64 meg usb stick in the road and gave it to me:

the drive contains a few random files – nothing really exciting or highly personal, but still amusing stuff. there is no way to return it to its original owner.

so, since it’s been quite some time since i’ve had a mattopia contest, i figured that it would be the perfect prize for the 2006 mattopia challenge!

rules of the oh-six challenge:

i have a song in mind. it is a “very obviously eighties” song from a “very obviously eighties” movie. that movie is not ferris bueller’s day off.

to win the contest, you must attempt to guess the song i am thinking of and present it to me in one of the following formats:

* sung over the phone
* lyrics spoken over the phone
* mp3 or other recording played over the phone.

to play, call me — if you don’t know my number(s), you probably know somebody that does. presentation may be performed or played to me directly, or to my voicemail. you may make up to three attempts on a single call, regardless if you talk to me or my voicemail. after the three attemps, you must wait at least an hour before any further attempts can be made.

what not to do:

* don’t post any titles, guesses, failures, anything of the like in comments. you’ll be disqualified.
* don’t call me after, oh, say 11pm?
* don’t feed the fish.

  1. and i’ve an idear, from the only obvious 80’s movie i know, but it’s 11:16. does the after 11 thing count on saturdays? i’d like to say no, but then again, i’d hate to be disqualified from winning a piece a memory stick i can’t use for not following the rules when i called with the wrong song with my only attempt. crap. did i just break a rule by discussing the rules? i get the feeling the bad cop is about to slap me.

  2. I would have jumped in with my guess, but why subject the relay operator to being forced to sing or recite lyrics? Now that Molly got it, care to tell the rest of the class what the answer is?
