the kerry rally was quite an event. i picked molly and ikea up in marion, and we arrived around 3:30pm. we were directed to the crap section since we only had internet tickets. further more, we found the crap part of the crap section and ended up being positioned behind the stage. ah well!

the bush protesters were crazy. they were pushing up against the fence and shouting “four more years!” the massively larger kerry crew retaliated with “five more days!”

tons of response to stem cell research. kerrys says we need an administration who is not afraid of science and technology, and i very passionately agree. think back… way back… when was the last major technological breakthrough that sticks out in your head? we’re due for something extraordinary.

pretty mild response to the “cargo hold not x-rayed, shipping containers not checked” stuff — we’ve all heard it a million times. move on, my friend.

bruce “the boss” springsteen played some open mic night sounding stuff. best line of the night? something like, “when president bush heard that i was touring with the boss, he thought i was campaigning with cheney!”

since the rally didn’t start at 4pm as advertised… or 5… or even 6:30 when it was “really” supposed to start… dana was able to swing by after her meeting, which was conveniently in columbus on the same day!
