i just made the stupidest “sysadmin 101” mistake. i was typing commands into a shell window. i deleted several postfix config files before realizing that i was typing in the wrong window — a production server.
ohhh. shit.
luckily all i had to do was mount the backup share, untar the dumbassishly deleted files from last night’s backup, and remove the sweat from my forehead.
i’m always glad to find myself prepared for my own stupidity.
