well i have a lunch date on thursday with a girl who used to be a receptionist at work. problem is that originally we were going to meet at a restaurant somewhere, but now she wants to meet at work and drive from there. either i need to find a different car by then, or i’ll have to be un-gentleman and ask if she can drive…
i’m not taking her to lunch in a beat-up dodge shadoe with a gaping hole in the muffler (ie loud) and rainbowbrite stickers.
oh, the beads are taken care of — the rearview mirror fell off last night, so no more beads.
between the 2 options:
1) being un-gentleman and have her drive.
2) take her in a beat-up dodge shadow.
personally, i’d pick #2. you can tell her that your car is in the shop being fixed.
tell her that you’re having car troubles and say that either of you can drive. it’s the new millenium.. chicks drive all the time. i even do 🙂
i know a firm that owes me a favor, and a free lincoln rental…
no sense in hiding anything…if you want to drive tell her that its just a temp car that you hate and can’t wait to get rid of it
and if she’s concerned about superficial things dont even bother in the first place…

i agree about the superficial thing. but might as well make the first impression a semi-favorable one.
