the microsoft thing had its moments, but all in all it was rather boring. of course intel was there, so microsoft was like “we highly recommend a pentium 4 for xp users to get the best out of windows xp, so sell your users a new computer.” what a bunch of crap. the best part of the entire conference was one of the microsoft guys constantly saying “windows xp: it sucks less”. i kid you not.

so i have a friend, and things between me and her are awkward. it’s like when we speak, the conversation goes nowhere, and i get mad wondering why things are so odd. i hate not knowing what’s wrong. i’ve asked, and she says it’s “not me”, and although i understand it’s probably not me, i hate being a friend of someone and knowing that things aren’t going well for them, but not knowing what’s wrong or how can i help.

  1. p4 2ghz was outperformed by an amd 1.4ghz for a business app test by (whoever owns techtv.com)

note, the intel machine costs $3k, while the amd machine costs under $1.6k

  2. yeah, some guy shouted that out while intel was demoing stuff on their 2ghz machine. the intel guy said “amd? yeah, i use those at home to cook dinner.” i must admit it was a good comeback.

  3. aside from a lame, yet whitty come back, the intel man was most afraid to confront the whole amd front. i don’t blame him… at least amd is smart enough to use ddr ram instead of that fricken rimm job ram. that shit blows. he said, and i quote “intel likes to compete with intel.” yeah, that’s the smart thing to do. i’ve never heard sooo much corporate propoganda in my life. the only thing that was said that i truly agree with is that the 815eae board is probably the most solid board available….. although, i am quite partial to the asustek a7a…. ahhhh yeah!

  4. *sniff* *sniff*

ah, i love the smell of compugeek in the morning.

seriously though, i wish i could have you all around when i decide to buy my next computer!
