i’d like to welcome my new machine…
silentbob.fukdup.net – a sun ultra 1, 167mhz, 128 megs ram, 2.1 gig ultra-wide scsi.
jay is coming soon, then matt.sh and fm will move over to our nice new network.
and yes, silentbob is in the back of a flower shop, on the shelf directly under kev’s box. ten machines back here and counting. it’s quite loud, especially with the buzzing of the 3kva ups we put in yesterday.
did you finally get suse on there, and if so how?

unplugged scsi cable, which forced an open-boot prompt.

powered down, re-connected scsi
ok boot cd-rom
installed suse — the installer was very difficult to read in my terminal, but i managed.
when done…
