eriecam.com has had like almost 500 unique visitors in the last 36 hours. can’t wait to see how it does tonight.
the second camera we’re adding for tonight only is mobile! we have the axis camera and a cisco 342 series bridge powered by an inverter and a 12 volt trolling battery. we’ve tested it for hours and hours without a recharge, so it should easily last all night.
the rig has a collapsable antenna mast, so we can put the camera at any height from about 5′ to about 20′. it’s all mounted on a standard dolly so that it can be moved around easily. with a tower right downtown, we should be able to use it just about anywhere. i’ve affectionately named the rig ‘johnny 5’ (and no, not just because there’s a slashdot poll with that name in it now). i’ll have some pictures up tonight or tomorrow of the rig and the festivities!
a trolling battery has enough power to let that thing run for a week 🙂
